30 May: Yes, I’m a bit behind the mark. I’ve been busy. Making coffee. Making tea. Making iced sun-tea. Making mint tea. Making ice cubes in my new fridge. Calming Molly who’s now afraid of the new refrigerator and the noise that the icemaker makes. Have you ever seen a dog barking “warning-warning-alert” at a refrigerator. Yes, the dog is truly barking. Not sure how we’ll address this problem because the new fridge stays.
The “small” digger arrived, and it fit through the garden gate just fine. It’s a noisy, hopping up and down little thing. It also has to be hot-wired every morning to get it started. I tease Andy that he should have nicked the keys when he nicked the digger.
One day about 20-years ago, we decided we’d like a greenhouse. I bought one for Peder for his birthday. He was delighted. It took half a day to fit together all the glass panes and wooden supports. It took Andy and Sonny and their little digger 15-minutes to knock it down. The wood was rotten beyond repair or salvage. It was time to say goodbye. It served us well.
And that was that. The next day the sun started shining and the real work began in earnest. The turf was removed. Bushes moved or dumped into the skip. The landscape drawings are all in Andy’s head, and we trust him. He hasn’t let us down yet, and I have a good feeling about this. We’ve also decided to have a little water feature, which is something that I’ve always wanted. Hurray! We’re off to the garden centre to shop for a water feature.
I can’t wait to see your water feature!
It’s just a little bit of stuff for water to tumble over. Looking mostly for a bit of water noise. 🙂
I can’t wait to see your finished yard, it is going to be lovely. I like the nursery area by the way. 🙂
I think I’ve managed to salvage a few more plants today. We’ll hope that they survive!
